A brief guide on how to assemble your new bicycle

Your new cycle has been expertly assembled ready for transportation to your home. A few components will require fitting and this can be done with minimal skills.

Full assembly instructions will be included with your new cycle to guide you through the simple steps and these differ slightly from machine to machine.

If you experience any difficulty at all you can contact either the manufacturer direct or our own BicycleNet workshop (We are here to help you!)

You will get many years of pleasure from your new cycle, so please follow the instructions carefully once you have unpacked everything.

Here is a basic guide for your information, although precise instructions vary from model to model........

1/ Front Wheel.

Locate the front wheel between the forks and tighten the 2 outer nuts. Simple!

2/ Handlebars.

Insert the complete handlebar stem and tighten using the allen key provided in your new cycle pack. All cables etc are supplied already attached to the handlebars - just mount the stem!

3/ Saddle.

Insert the seatpost and adjust the height before tightening.

4/ Pedals.

Screw the pedals into the position and tighten using the spanner provided. Note that they are marked for left and right sides ('L' and 'R')

5/ Brakes.

Brakes are fully assembled and only final adjustment is required.

6/ Gear protector.

Where applicable, slide into position and tighten using the spanner provided.

7/ Reflector.

Finally, where applicable, attach the reflectors onto the posts using self tapping screws.

8/Gears.

Occasionally you may find that gear changing on your new cycle does not appear to operate smoothly and needs a simple adjustment. If you run into this situation please follow this link to our gear adjustment page

Bicycles are supplied with a limited selection of tools that may not facilitate complete assembly. In addition to the tools provided you may need to obtain an adjustable spanner and set of metric allen keys etc.
